乐播传媒 is proud to announce the receipt of $1,004,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce鈥檚 Economic Development Administration (EDA) to construct a new welding training facility at its Montgomery Campus in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.

"We are proud of the EDA鈥檚 investment in 乐播传媒鈥檚 Montgomery Campus, and we greatly appreciate Senator McConnell鈥檚 support in helping us secure this federal funding," said Dr. Laura McCullough, President and Chief Executive Officer of 乐播传媒. "This critical project not only enhances our facilities but also strengthens our capacity to meet the growing demands of the welding industry. By fostering workforce development and empowering our students with high-demand skills, we are laying the foundation for new business growth, attracting private investment, and driving long-term economic vitality in the region. Together, we are building a stronger future for our community."

The new welding facility will significantly expand 乐播传媒鈥檚 capacity to provide specialized technical training for students entering high-demand fields. With advanced equipment and increased space for hands-on learning, the facility will help bridge the skills gap in the local workforce. The project is expected to have a direct impact on local employers who have struggled to find qualified welders, boosting economic development and job growth in the region.

"This grant represents a transformative opportunity for both 乐播传媒 and the communities we serve," said Shana Savard-Hogge, Associate Director of Grants at 乐播传媒. "We are especially grateful for the collaborative efforts of our partners, including the Gateway Area Development District (GADD), local industry leaders, and our dedicated 乐播传媒 faculty and staff. Their involvement, from securing the grant to continuing its administration, will be crucial in ensuring the long-term success of this project. By working together, we are not only providing students with hands-on, industry-specific training but also supporting local businesses and driving regional economic growth."

Senator McConnell, a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, was instrumental in supporting 乐播传媒鈥檚 competitive federal grant application and advocating for EDA funding in the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill.

鈥淚 hear constantly about the challenges Kentucky employers face finding workers to fill open jobs across the Commonwealth,鈥 said Senator McConnell. 鈥溊植ゴ解檚 new facility will go a long way in training Kentuckians with the hands-on skills they need to get to work in their communities.鈥
